University of Basrah Organizes a Course on Using Origin Software
As part of its efforts to enhance research and scientific skills, the Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a specialized course entitled "Using Origin Software to Calculate the Optical Properties of Extracted Materials."
The course aimed to familiarize participants with the use of Origin, one of the leading software programs for statistical analysis and graphical representation, in analyzing spectral data from natural and extracted materials.
The course, presented by Dr. Raja Mohammed Abdullah, a faculty member at the Polymer Research Center, included hands-on practical applications on how to input data from measuring instruments, process it graphically, and extract precise values for optical properties using the program's advanced tools. The lecturer focused on the practical aspects of calculating optical properties such as the energy gap, absorption coefficient, refractive index, and other essential physical properties used in materials science, physics, and chemistry research.
