University of Basrah Hosts Quranic Gathering in Commemoration of Imam Ali’s (PBUH) Martyrdom
The Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basrah organized a Quranic gathering titled “Ali and the Qur’an: A Biography of Light and a Path of Guidance”, attended by a group of academics.
The event aimed to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ali (PBUH), who embodied the values of the Qur’an, to encourage emulation of his virtues, and to remind Muslims of his esteemed status.
The gathering featured the participation of a distinguished group of the center’s reciters, who chanted verses from the Holy Qur’an in an atmosphere of reverence and solemnity, reflecting on the Imam’s rank and noble values. The program included speeches and religious segments highlighting aspects of Imam Ali’s biography and his accomplishments, creating a spiritual setting that combined mourning and recitation, with the purpose of promoting Islamic values and educating generations in the love of the Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt.
