University of Basrah Organizes Scientific Lecture on Disease Vectors and Prevention Methods
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture titled “Disease Vectors: Hidden Enemies Behind Transmitted Diseases and How to Prevent Them,” highlighting the risks posed by disease vectors and the ways to limit their spread.
The lecture aimed to raise health and environmental awareness and promote preventive culture within the university community, contributing to reducing the spread of diseases and protecting public health.
The lecture, delivered by Lecturer Hanaa Khazal Jaber, discussed the concept of disease vectors as living organisms that transmit pathogens from one person to another or from animals to humans, such as mosquitoes, flies, and ticks.
The lecturer also pointed to environmental and climatic factors that contribute to the increased spread of these vectors, including rising temperatures and water accumulation, in addition to certain human behaviors that may increase the likelihood of infection transmission.
