The University of Basrah Holds a Scientific Seminar on Accounting Standards in the Discourse of Imam Ali
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education and the Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies Center, organized a scientific seminar entitled “A Linguistic Reading of Accounting Standards in the Discourse of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).”
The seminar aimed to highlight the linguistic connotations of accounting standards reflected in the sermons of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), in a way that contributes to enhancing students’ understanding of specialized terminology in the Arabic language and linking it to accounting standards.
The seminar included lectures delivered by Dr. Suhail Abdullah Nasser, Dr. Abbas Abdulaziz Sihoud, Dr. Hamid Silawi Lafta, and Lecturer Abbas Jassim Nasser. Their presentations addressed the linguistic–accounting approach in the sermons of Imam Ali, as well as their historical context and Islamic foundations.
