University of Basrah Organizes a Dialogue Forum on Peaceful Coexistence
The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a dialogue forum entitled “Peaceful Coexistence to Confront Extremism and Counter Hate Speech: Toward a Comprehensive Strategy,” with the participation of researchers from Iraq and several Arab countries.
The forum aimed to highlight the intellectual and psychological roots of extremism and hate speech, as well as to emphasize the role of educational institutions in promoting preventive awareness and consolidating the values of tolerance and constructive dialogue.
The event featured the presentation of more than twenty research papers by scholars from Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Sultanate of Oman.
The forum addressed various themes, underscoring the importance of integrating educational, counseling, legal, and media roles in developing a comprehensive strategy that contributes to reducing intolerance and promoting peaceful coexistence and social stability.
