University of Basrah Organizes a Tree-Planting Campaign on the Occasion of National Afforestation Day
The Marine Science Centre at the University of Basrah organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign in the gardens and surrounding areas of the Centre as part of the activities marking National Afforestation Day.
The campaign aimed to enhance green spaces, protect vegetation cover, and preserve the environment.
The initiative, which was attended by the Centre’s Director General and staff members, included planting a variety of fruit and ornamental trees across different locations within the campus.
This campaign comes as part of the national initiative launched by the Prime Minister, which seeks to plant diverse tree species and represents an important step in implementing the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to promote environmental awareness and expand green areas within universities and educational institutions.
