University of Basrah Holds Online Workshop on Philosophical Thought and Psychological Counseling
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, held an online workshop entitled "Philosophical Thought as an Approach to Enhancing Psychological and Educational Counseling Skills."
The workshop aimed to develop participants' understanding of the concept of philosophical thought and its relationship to psychological and educational counseling.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Rafif Abdul-Hafiz Al-Riyahi and faculty member Sawsan Abdul-Jalil Matar, included a presentation of the basic concepts of philosophical thought and educational counseling skills, an analysis of educational and psychological problems using a philosophical and systematic approach, and the application of critical thinking and philosophical inquiry skills in counseling sessions.
The workshop recommended the necessity of integrating philosophical thinking into psychological counseling programs and training counselors in philosophical dialogue and critical analysis to enhance educational culture.
