The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a Qur’anic competition in memorization and recitation, with the participation of a distinguished group of students and staff members from various academic levels. The event was held as part of the college’s annual program aimed at fostering the spiritual and cultural development of students.
The competition aimed to encourage students to engage in memorizing the Holy Qur’an and to master its recitation, in addition to identifying promising Qur’anic talents within the college and supporting their participation in university and national Qur’anic events.
The competition was marked by a spiritually enriching atmosphere that reflected the college’s commitment to promoting religious values and reinforcing a culture of engagement with the Holy Qur’an. Participants competed in both memorization and recitation categories in accordance with precise tajweed rules and standards, under the supervision of a specialized judging committee in Qur’anic sciences and recitation.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners of the top positions were honored and certificates of appreciation were awarded to all participants in recognition of their efforts and to encourage them to continue their Qur’anic journey. The organizers emphasized that such activities contribute to building a well-rounded student personality both academically and ethically.
