The University of Basrah Organizes a Large-Scale Tree-Planting Campaign as Part of the National Afforestation Day Activities
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign, with the participation of the college administration, faculty members, staff, and students. The initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and expand green spaces within the university campus.
During the campaign, a number of trees and seedlings were planted in the college’s gardens and courtyards, with voluntary participation from faculty, staff, and students, highlighting the importance of afforestation in improving the campus environment, reducing pollution, and enhancing the aesthetic appearance of educational institutions.
The campaign also included awareness activities, such as distributing educational brochures and posting instructional posters emphasizing the importance of environmental preservation, the role of trees in air purification, combating desertification, and encouraging students to engage in environmental initiatives and volunteer work.
