A Master’s thesis at the University of Basrah investigates crack propagation analysis in adhesive joints
A Master’s thesis conducted at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah examined the analysis of cracks in adhesive joints using a combined model that integrates experimental work with the extended finite element method (XFEM).
The thesis, submitted by the student Haider Mohammed Ali Abdulzahra, aims to investigate the behavior of crack propagation in adhesive joints, which are considered among the modern bonding techniques used in joining materials due to their ability to reduce structural weight and distribute stresses more effectively.
The study is structured into four chapters, in which the researcher discusses an integrated methodology combining experimental testing and numerical modeling based on the extended finite element method.
