University of Basrah Discusses Master's Thesis on Approximation Using Baskakov Operators
A master's thesis on approximation using specific Baskakov operators was discussed at the College of Education for Pure Sciences.
The thesis, presented by researcher Hanin Falah Abdul-Hassan, included a study that addressed a new family of positive linear operators within approximation theory, along with flexible generalizations of Baskakov sequences based on two parameters.
The results showed that these sequences not only reduce error but also provide flexibility in handling different test functions.
The convergence was proven using Korfkin's theorem, and error estimates were derived. A numerical example was also presented demonstrating the improvement in approximation accuracy with appropriate parameter selection.
