University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on the Battle of Badr: Between Text and Application
The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Arts, organized a symposium entitled "The Great Battle of Badr: An Analytical Reading of the Battle's Representations in Qur'anic Discourse and Historical Narratives Between Text and Application." The symposium was attended by faculty members, students, and those interested in cultural and intellectual affairs.
The symposium aimed to highlight the historical and intellectual dimensions of the Great Battle of Badr.
It included the presentation of two research papers that addressed the mechanisms of employing the historical event in intellectual and cultural discourses and its importance in Islamic history. The papers also analyzed Qur'anic discourse and historical narratives of the battle, exploring points of convergence and divergence between text and application.
