University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Cyber Extortion
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on cyber extortion and its associated risks.
The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of cyber extortion, its dangers, underlying causes, methods of prevention, and approaches to addressing this type of crime. It also presented real-life examples to highlight the nature of such offenses and the mechanisms for dealing with them.
The workshop included the presentation of several research papers in which the participants explored the concept of cyber extortion and its various dimensions. The discussions further examined its most significant psychological and social impacts on individuals and society, in addition to identifying the key factors contributing to its spread and proposing strategies to mitigate it.
