The University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Saltwater Intrusion Formation
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on saltwater intrusion and the qualitative composition of diatoms in the eastern part of Al-Hammar Marsh.
The workshop aimed to highlight changes in diatom species within Al-Hammar Marsh as a result of saltwater intrusion, and the subsequent disruptions to the feeding patterns and habitats of other living organisms.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Mitham Abdullah Ghaly, a faculty member at the college, in which he presented field and laboratory work, species identification tables, and their varying environmental preferences.
