The University of Basrah organizes a workshop on the dimensions of the war against Iran
The College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a workshop addressing the dimensions of the 2026 Zionist–American war against Iran and its role in reshaping the regional order.
The workshop aimed to examine potential scenarios of the Zionist–American war against Iran, the underlying motivations behind this conflict, and the associated geopolitical trajectories, particularly those related to the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The workshop included the presentation of several research papers, in which researchers discussed the strategic and ideological drivers of the war, efforts to end Iran’s nuclear program, dismantle the Axis of Resistance, and ensure the security of Israel and Gulf states, in addition to the pursuit of regional dominance and the promotion of political and economic projects within the framework of the so-called “New Middle East.”
