The University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on the Intellectual Approach of Sayyid Khamenei (May God’s Mercy Be Upon Him)
The University of Basrah organized a symposium on the intellectual and ideological approach of the martyred leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God’s mercy be upon him) and his role in building awareness and confronting challenges. The event was attended by the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Basra, Ali Abadi, members of the University Council, and a number of political and social figures.
In his opening remarks, the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, stated: “The organization of this symposium comes in commemoration of the fortieth day since the martyrdom of the nation’s martyr and leader of the mujahideen, Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God’s mercy be upon him), a figure whose presence was not merely transient in the nation’s journey, but rather a deeply rooted intellectual approach and an advanced struggle-oriented stance, reflecting profound ideological awareness and continuous readiness for sacrifice in the path of truth.”
He added: “As we recall these profound sacrifices, we affirm that universities are not merely educational institutions, but arenas for building awareness, platforms for shaping positions, and centers for preparing a generation that carries a resistant intellectual vision, with a deep understanding of the magnitude of challenges and the ability to confront misinformation and deviation campaigns.”
For his part, political researcher Mr. Amir Al-Moussawi stated in his paper presented during the symposium: “The approach of the martyred leader Ali Khamenei (may God’s mercy be upon him) represented an integrated project that combined thought and action, word and stance, insight and steadfastness, affirming that jihad is not merely an immediate confrontation, but a long path of awareness, construction, and resilience through which the will of the nation is shaped and its identity preserved.”
He further noted: “The martyred leader (may God’s mercy be upon him) instilled in the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran the strength of faith and firmness of stance in confronting the unjust Zionist-American aggression, as the Iranian people have demonstrated the highest forms of heroism and steadfastness behind their wise leadership in countering attempts to sow discord among the peoples of the Islamic nation.”
He concluded by expressing his gratitude to the University of Basrah for hosting the symposium and contributing to strengthening Islamic ties between the Iraqi and Iranian peoples, including initiatives such as collecting financial and in-kind donations to support the Iranian people.
