The University of Basrah Organizes a Training Course on Basic First Aid Skills
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with Al-Zahraa College of Medicine, organized a training course entitled “First Aid,” with the participation of a number of individuals from non-medical backgrounds.
The course aimed to equip participants with essential skills to handle emergency situations and preserve the lives of injured individuals until specialized medical teams arrive.
The course, delivered by Dr. Duaa Saadi Salem along with a group of academic medical staff, included practical training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for both children and adults, as well as methods for dealing with cases of bleeding, drowning, choking, and various types of burns.
It also addressed ways to respond to poisoning cases, particularly those involving chlorine and medications, with an emphasis on the importance of rapid response and proper procedures.
