University of Basrah Organises Workshop on Protein Profiling
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organised a workshop on identifying biomarkers to predict complications associated with pregnancies affected by fetal growth restriction, using protein profiling techniques.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the condition and help mitigate its potential long-term complications, which may include neurological disorders, as well as difficulties related to speech and learning, in addition to reducing the associated psychological, financial, and social burdens.
The workshop featured a lecture delivered by Dr. Wafaa Abdulnabi Flayyel, who outlined the clinical manifestations of pregnancy complicated by fetal growth restriction relative to gestational age, the key contributing factors, and its potential long-term impact on the health of both mother and child.
