The University of Basrah Organizes a Panel Discussion on the System of Triviality
The Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled “The System of Triviality and Its Societal Implications.”
The discussion aimed to clarify the concept of triviality and its risks in shaping social awareness, while highlighting the factors behind its spread and its effects on both personal and academic levels.
Presented by Dr. Zainab Kazim Hassan, the session explored the origins of the term, its transformations, and the most prominent manifestations of triviality, including the commodification of life and low-quality art, as well as its impact on weakening values and knowledge.
The panel discussion recommended promoting critical awareness, adhering to ethical values, and advancing cultural and media content.
