The University of Basrah Organizes a Lecture on the Use of Laughing Gas in Dental Treatment
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a lecture entitled “The Use of Laughing Gas in Pediatric Dental Treatment.”
The lecture aimed to raise awareness of the safe and effective use of Nitrous Oxide in pediatric dentistry, while enhancing dentists’ ability to manage anxiety and fear in children and improve patient cooperation during treatment.
Delivered by lecturer Nadia Azzam Abdulwahab, the lecture addressed the mechanism of action of nitrous oxide, indications for its use, and the cases in which it is recommended, highlighting its advantages as a rapid and safe treatment option. It also discussed potential side effects and the necessary preventive measures to protect medical staff and ensure a safe clinical environment.
