The University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Irregular Migration
The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on irregular migration and its negative effects on individuals and society.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the risks associated with irregular migration, including its psychological, economic, and legal consequences, while enhancing young people’s awareness to reduce involvement in this phenomenon.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by lecturer Hanaa Abdulnabi Kaban, who provided an overview of irregular migration and its underlying causes. The session also examined its psychological, physical, and economic impacts, in addition to reviewing relevant Iraqi legislation and the risks migrants may face in destination countries. Emphasis was placed on the importance of awareness initiatives to protect young people from misinformation and guide them toward safer alternatives.
