A Scientific Study at the University of Basrah Examines Dental Implants
A scientific study conducted by Dr. Hassanein Ali Mohsen Al-Naml, a faculty member at the College of Dentistry, University of Basrah, investigated the osseointegration of dental implants made from geopolymer reinforced with boron nitride nanosheets.
The study, published in a reputable international journal by Elsevier, indexed in Scopus, focused on developing and evaluating dental implants made from geopolymer reinforced with boron nitride nanosheets. It analyzed their mechanical properties and biocompatibility through in vivo and in vivo experiments on animal models, supported by microscopic examinations and advanced mechanical tests to assess the implant material's efficiency.
The study's results demonstrated a clear improvement in osseointegration strength and biocompatibility compared to traditional materials, as well as good cellular biocompatibility. This strengthens the potential for adopting this material as a promising option in the field of dental implants.
