The University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on the Impact of Table Sugar on Weight Gain
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled “The Impact of Table Sugar on Weight Gain.”
The workshop aimed to highlight the harmful effects of various types of table sugar on body weight and obesity, identify the primary contributing factors, and introduce methods of prevention and treatment.
The workshop, presented by lecturers Batool Hussein Hatem and Nawras Abdulilah Alwan, provided a detailed explanation of the main factors leading to obesity, insulin resistance, and Type 2 Diabetes.
The workshop recommended expanding awareness programs, adopting a healthy and balanced diet, and engaging in daily physical activity. It also emphasized the importance of regularly monitoring body weight to identify the causes of weight gain and address them effectively.
