The University of Basrah Holds a Lecture on Ethics and Professional Ethics for the Educational Specialization
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on ethics and professional ethics for the educational specialization as part of the sixth module of the Seventh Teaching Methods Course.
The lecture aimed to introduce trainees to the concept of professional ethics and provide a comparison between the concepts of ethics and professional ethics.
Delivered by Dr. Rafid Abdul Jabbar Mohammed and Dr. Mustafa Abdul Ridha Kazim, the lecture presented an overview of the concept of ethics, its sources, and its significance, while exploring whether ethics are innate or acquired. It also examined the stages of development of ethical and professional ethics concepts, the distinction between ethics and ethical practice, the ethics of the teaching profession, sources of educational professional ethics, foundational principles of teaching ethics, professional discipline and its types, as well as the objectives of professional discipline.
