The President of the University of Basrah Receives MP Suzanne Al-Saad

The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, received Member of the Iraqi Parliament Ms. Suzanne Al-Saad, accompanied by her delegation, along with Mr. Sabeih Hashim, Head of the Hurouf Foundation for Studies and Research, in a meeting aimed at strengthening avenues of cooperation between academic institutions and legislative and research bodies.

The two sides discussed mechanisms of cooperation with the Hurouf Foundation in organizing joint seminars and conferences addressing social and economic issues, emphasizing the importance of integration between the university and the legislative authority in developing laws and regulations that enhance the educational sector. The meeting also reviewed initiatives adopted by the university within the framework of its social responsibility, and the role of research institutions in supporting these initiatives with scientific insights.

For her part, MP Suzanne Al-Saad commended the distinguished academic standing of the University of Basrah and its long-established history, affirming her continued efforts to overcome obstacles and support the academic institution in service of students and academic staff.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the visiting delegation presented a commemorative shield to the President of the University of Basrah in appreciation of the university’s leading role in advancing scientific and cultural development in the province, and in recognition of his efforts in strengthening cooperation with research and oversight institutions.
