Publication of a Book by a Faculty Member at the University of Basrah Entitled “Mirrors and Windows”
Dr. Amjad Mohammed Reda Awda, a faculty member at the College of Education in Al-Qurna, University of Basrah, has published a book entitled “Mirrors and Windows.”
The book comprises several pages distributed across multiple chapters and presents a collaborative short story collection developed as an outcome of a workshop conducted within the “Modern Arabic Prose” course.
The publication reflects a practical academic experience that integrates both theoretical and applied dimensions, where fourth-year students contributed to writing their short narrative texts under academic supervision. The author, in turn, provided a critical and methodological study that enriched the work and situated it within its literary context, transforming it into an educational project aimed at enhancing students’ creative writing skills.
The book represents a pioneering academic initiative that seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice and strengthen the connection between students and their curriculum.
