The President of the University of Basrah Receives a Delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, received a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Safaa Hussein, Assistant Director of the Government Contracts Department, as part of a field visit aimed at monitoring the technical and administrative workflow across the Ministry’s formations.

The visit included an intensive agenda focusing on the University of Basrah’s compliance with all ministerial regulations and directives related to the operational mechanisms of the electronic contracts platform. It also aimed to directly identify potential technical and administrative challenges that may hinder workflow within the university, and to develop immediate and effective solutions in coordination between the university, the Ministry’s Contracts Department, and the Ministry of Planning.

During the meeting, Dr. Safaa Hussein emphasized that the visit aims to strengthen principles of transparency and integrity in government contracting, noting that the Ministry is working diligently to digitize and unify all procedures through the electronic platform to ensure accuracy and efficiency in implementation.

For his part, the University President welcomed the ministerial delegation, affirming the university’s full commitment to implementing all official instructions. He also stressed the importance of continued cooperation with the Ministry’s Contracts Department and the Ministry of Planning to overcome logistical and technical challenges, in support of the institution’s development and reconstruction efforts.
