The University of Basrah Organizes an Online Scientific Lecture on the Hazards of Toxic Substances
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah organized an online scientific lecture entitled “Toxic Substances.”
The lecture aimed to raise participants’ awareness of the dangers associated with toxic materials and the methods of preventing exposure to them.
Delivered by lecturer Wisal Abdulrahman Salem, the lecture introduced the different types and forms of toxic substances, the pathways through which they enter the human body, and the distinctions between toxic and hazardous materials and their classifications. It also addressed symptoms resulting from poisoning and the available methods of treatment.
The lecture emphasized the importance of adhering to safety guidelines and carefully reading warning symbols and hazard labels.
It further recommended avoiding the misuse or mixing of toxic substances due to the serious health risks that may result.
