The University of Basrah Organizes Its Fourth Hybrid International Scientific Conference
The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah organized its Fourth Hybrid International Scientific Conference entitled: “Youth Between Addiction and Social Disintegration: A Foresight Vision for Prevention, Treatment, and Rehabilitation,” with the participation of a large number of researchers and academics from within Iraq and abroad.
The conference aimed to examine the current realities facing youth, diagnose the causes behind their disengagement from education, and identify the underlying factors contributing to the spread of addiction, in addition to exploring effective approaches for prevention and treatment.
In his address, the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Juma’a Lafta, stated: “We continuously strive to present scientific insights and practical solutions that contribute to reducing negative phenomena affecting society—foremost among them addiction—by employing academic research and benefiting from both local and international expertise.”
In conclusion, the conference emphasized the importance of developing forward-looking visions and strategic pathways to address present challenges and lay the foundation for a prosperous future that meets the aspirations of youth while promoting social stability and progress.
