University of Basrah Organizes International Conference on Historical Research in the Digital Age
The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basrah organized the Fourth International Integrated Scientific Conference on Historical Research in the Digital Age, with the participation of a large number of researchers and academics from within Iraq and abroad.
The conference aimed to focus on the transformations taking place in historical research in light of digital development, and to demonstrate the impact of modern technologies on developing scientific research tools and expanding the horizons of historical studies.
The conference, which included the participation of more than 100 researchers from within Iraq and abroad, included several scientific themes addressing issues of historical research and mechanisms for employing digital technologies in studying historical sources.
The Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ayman Saleh Naama, highlighted the importance of historical research in the digital age, emphasizing that technological development has contributed to providing vast sources of knowledge and has facilitated access to historical documents and their analysis using modern scientific methods.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jumaa Lafteh, emphasized the important role played by researchers and academic institutions in developing historical studies, noting the College's commitment to supporting scholarly activities that contribute to enhancing scientific research and keeping pace with contemporary knowledge transformations.
