University of Basrah Organizes Scientific Visit to a Fish Hatchery
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific visit for first-year students in the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources to a fish hatchery, as part of their ichthyology course. The visit was supervised by Dr. Atheer Hussein Ali and Dr. Thamer Katea Adai.
The visit aimed to enhance the students' practical skills and connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications in fish farming and breeding.
The visit included observing the stages of artificial insemination for common carp, from isolating broodstock and preparing hormonal extracts to the injection process, thus contributing to the development of the students' scientific skills.
