The University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on the Role of Women in Economic Development
The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on creating freelance opportunities for women in the digital economy, with the aim of empowering women and enhancing their role in the digital labor market.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of freelance work in the digital age and the opportunities available to women across various technological fields. It also reviewed أبرز digital platforms that enable remote work, in addition to outlining mechanisms for developing the skills necessary to succeed in this domain.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Uday Basheer Issa, who addressed the challenges women may face in freelance work and ways to overcome them through continuous training and experience-building. He also emphasized the role of academic institutions in supporting such initiatives, which contribute to strengthening women’s economic independence.
