The University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Handling Sea Level Data
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled “Handling Sea Level Data Using the Total Tide Software.”
The workshop aimed to enable participants to process and analyze sea level data using the Total Tide, starting from software installation through to preliminary modeling and data export for hydrodynamic modeling projects and coastal engineering applications.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Ali Abdulredha Lafta, focused on learning how to import time-series data of sea level fluctuations, process and correct datasets by removing outliers through calibration with field measurements obtained from continuous monitoring devices, and presenting results through time-series plots, calculating averages, and determining warning levels. It also covered the integration of sea level data with depth information and bathymetric survey data.
