University of Basrah Publishes Two Books Translated from English
Two books translated from English, titled "Aesop's Fables" and "Between the Lines of Oscar Wilde," have been published by faculty members Zain Al-Abidin Salem, Zaid Nouri Taher, and Batoul Abdul-Muhsin from the College of Education in Al-Qurna, University of Basrah.
"Aesop's Fables" is a translation of a collection of allegorical fables told through the voices of animals. These fables convey timeless moral and human values, addressing the reader in simple language with clear intellectual depth.
"Between the Lines of Oscar Wilde" is a translation of a collection of short stories by Oscar Wilde, distinguished by their philosophical dimension and satirical style. Special attention has been paid to conveying the spirit and artistic imagery of the original text into Arabic.
These translations aim to bring world literature closer to the Arab reader, offering content that combines enjoyment and intellectual value, thus contributing to the enhancement of cultural awareness and the development of literary taste among diverse readership.
