University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on the Supremacy of Constitutional Texts
The College of Law at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the supremacy of constitutional texts and the hierarchy of legal rules: the dialectic of the relationship between higher and lower texts.
The workshop aimed to introduce constitutional texts and their hierarchy of power and importance.
The workshop included a lecture presented by Professor Artaqaa Mohammed Baqir, who explained the importance of interpreting or applying the constitution, especially when its texts conflict or multiple interpretations exist, which necessitates that the constitutional court prioritize the higher texts.
