The University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Fold Analysis and Stress Determination
The College of Science at University of Basrah organized a workshop on fold analysis and the determination of the stresses affecting them.
The workshop aimed to introduce the use of a software program for analyzing major and minor folds by determining the orientations of bedding planes for each limb.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Naghin Abdul Jalil, who explained that the program is capable of identifying the fold axis, axial plane, angles between fold limbs, pole diagrams, pi diagrams, contour lines, and the best cylindrical fit for the analysis and classification of joints. The program can also determine the orientations of paleostress.
