Faculty Member from the University of Basrah Was Selected as a Member of the Examination Committee at the Islamic University
Dr. Jassim Khalifa Sultan, a faculty member in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, was selected as a member of the examination committee for the Master's thesis of student Reem Alaa Hamdaka at the College of Arts, Islamic University in Gaza. The examination was conducted via Zoom.
Dr. Jassim Khalifa Sultan stated that the thesis, titled "Translating Metaphors of Emotion in the Dubbed Cartoon Film (Coco)," comprised four chapters. In these chapters, the student explored the mechanism for translating English metaphors into Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Arabic. She also identified the strategies used in the translation, particularly the conflict between localization and alienation.
