University of Basrah Organizes Development Course on the Correctness of the Arabic Language
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah held a training course entitled “The Correctness of the Arabic Language.”
The course aimed to develop participants’ abilities to use the Arabic language correctly and fluently in writing and speaking, by enhancing their knowledge of grammar, spelling, and style. This contributes to avoiding common linguistic errors and achieving accuracy and clarity of expression.
The course, presented by instructor Waqar Hassan Abbas, covered several topics, including correcting spoken and written language, differentiating between the letters ha’ and ta’ marbuta, the rules of tanween al-fath, correcting common linguistic errors, distinguishing between the letters dad and tha’, and number and counted nouns. The course recommended the importance of paying attention to the correctness of the Arabic language and activating linguistic editing in official correspondence to ensure accuracy of meaning and clarity of expression.
