Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Environmental Factors and the Distribution of the Arfaj Plant
A Master’s thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah examined environmental factors, pollution, and the distribution of the Arfaj plant community in the southern desert of Basrah Province.
The thesis, presented by student Zahraa Ali Jaafar, aimed to highlight the importance of the Arfaj plant as both a medicinal and grazing plant, as well as its significant environmental value as one of the major desert plant communities.
The thesis consisted of four chapters in which the student discussed the abundance and density of the plant, which decline with increasing temperatures. The study also showed that the Arfaj plant is among the species capable of accumulating pollutants within its tissues.
