Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines a Water Quality Index for the Shatt Al-Arab
A Master’s thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah examined the development of a water quality index to enhance water management in the middle section of the Shatt Al-Arab.
The thesis, presented by student Noha Ali Mohsen, aimed to develop monitoring and assessment tools for water resources in a way that contributes to strengthening the environmental management of these resources.
The thesis consisted of four chapters in which the student discussed the application and updating of the 2023 approved Shatt Al-Arab Water Quality Index to evaluate the water quality of its middle section.
The study concluded that adopting modern indicators for water quality assessment is essential for supporting water management plans and preserving the aquatic environment of the Shatt Al-Arab.
