University of Basrah Organizes Scientific Seminar on Applications of Linear Programming and Matrices
The College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Applying Linear Programming and Matrix Techniques in Analyzing Production Constraints and Maximizing Profit.”
The seminar aimed to introduce the concepts of linear programming and matrices and their importance in analyzing production constraints, as well as to develop decision-making skills through the use of mathematical models and the applications of Excel and Python in economic and administrative fields.
The seminar, delivered by lecturer Mohammed Mousa and faculty member Tabarak Qasim Ibrahim, included a presentation on the mechanisms for employing linear programming to optimize the use of available resources and maximize profits within production institutions. It also featured practical examples designed to strengthen the participants’ applied skills.
