Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Effects of Different Modification Methods on Aluminum Alloys
A Master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah examined the effects of different modification methods on aluminum-silicon alloys.
The thesis, presented by student Zainab Zaher Mohammed Jawad, aimed to investigate the effects of solidification parameters and ultrasonic treatment on the size of eutectic silicon plates.
The thesis consisted of four chapters in which the student discussed the impact of solidification parameters—including cooling rate, solidification rate, and temperature gradient—on the size of the silicon phase in aluminum alloys, as well as the relationship between these solidification parameters and the size of eutectic silicon plates.
