University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on the Impact of Rising Divorce Rates on Crime
The College of Law at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the impact of increasing divorce rates on crime in Basrah Governorate.
The workshop aimed to highlight the social and legal consequences of the growing number of divorce cases in Basrah Governorate, examine their correlation with rising crime rates, explore their effects on families and society, and propose effective measures to mitigate their repercussions.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by faculty member Buthaina Hamza Abbas, who explained that divorce is one of the most serious social issues threatening family stability and cohesion, often leading to family disintegration. She emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of divorce with careful consideration and thorough study, particularly in light of its widespread prevalence in recent years.
