Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Impact of Petroleum Compounds on Food Crops
A master's thesis at the College of Science, University of Basrah, investigated the impact of petroleum compounds on wheat and barley crops in northern Basra Governorate.
The thesis, submitted by student Fatima Ihsan Kadhim, aimed to determine the extent of the impact of petroleum compounds on wheat and barley crops in various locations in northern Basra Governorate, and the nutritional safety and suitability of these crops for human consumption.
The thesis comprised four chapters in which the student discussed the soil and the entire plant of wheat and barley contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, as well as the sources of petroleum pollution.
