Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Criminal Protection of Health Data
A master's thesis at the College of Law, University of Basrah, examined the criminal protection afforded to personal health data in light of digital advancements.
The thesis, submitted by student Marwa Khalid Yassin, aimed to demonstrate the adequacy of the existing criminal protection for personal health data given the rapid pace of digital development.
The thesis comprised two chapters in which the student discussed the conceptual and legal framework of personal health data, its importance and characteristics, as well as the types of attacks and crimes targeting it and the legal issues they raise concerning privacy and information security.
