University of Basrah Holds Lecture on Introduction to Teaching and Learning for Applied Specializations
The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized a training lecture as part of the eighth Teaching Methods Course, Unit One, entitled “Introduction to Teaching and Learning for Applied Specializations,” with the participation of a number of faculty members and researchers.
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Rafid Abdul Jabbar Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Medicine, reviewed the fundamental concepts of teaching and learning, the distinction between teaching and training, and the key components of the educational process and the principles underlying its development.
The lecture focused on effective teaching strategies, including direct instruction, brainstorming, discussion-based learning, and the use of modern educational technologies. It also highlighted essential teaching skills that contribute to improving the student academic experience and enhancing the competencies of university instructors, ultimately supporting the achievement of distinguished educational outcomes.
