University of Basrah Council Holds Its Thirteenth Morning Session to Discuss Scientific and Academic Affairs
The University of Basrah Council held its thirteenth morning session for the 2025–2026 academic year under the chairmanship of President of the University, Professor Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, with the attendance of the Vice Presidents, the Council Secretary, and Council members.
The session commenced with the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by discussions on the directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Opinion Commission), as well as the University Presidency’s vision for advancing academic work. The Council also commended the efforts exerted in ensuring the smooth progress of the educational process.
During the meeting, the Council reviewed the agenda items, which included discussions on scientific and administrative affairs, mechanisms for enhancing scientific research, and the consideration of a number of postgraduate and undergraduate student matters that had been approved in accordance with ministerial regulations and instructions.
Al-Asadi stated that the University is moving steadily toward achieving comprehensive academic quality. “The decisions made today are aimed at enhancing the efficiency of administrative and scientific performance and advancing the progress of scientific research. We highly commend the exceptional efforts made by the deanships of the colleges, as well as our academic and administrative staff,” he said.
