University of Basrah and Chinese Consulate Explore Cooperation to Address Climate Change Challenges
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah welcomed a delegation from the Political Affairs Section of the Chinese Consulate to discuss prospects for joint scientific cooperation and explore ways to address environmental challenges and climate change.
The delegation was received by the Dean of the College, Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed, in the presence of the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, as well as a number of department heads and faculty members.
The meeting included an extensive presentation of the College’s scientific capabilities, infrastructure, and research projects related to environmental issues and sustainable development. As part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation, the Chinese Consulate extended an official invitation to four faculty members from the College to participate in a two-week training program in Ningxia, China. The program will focus on the exchange of expertise and the development of innovative solutions to combat desertification and climate change.
