Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Investigates the Relationship Between Nutritional Elements and Hypothyroidism in Women
A master’s thesis at the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah, examined serum levels of magnesium, selenium, and iron in women diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Basrah Governorate.
The study, presented by researcher Maha Abboud Hassani, aimed to evaluate the relationship between thyroid hormones, blood groups, and trace elements in women with primary hypothyroidism in Basrah Governorate.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the researcher investigated a group of patients diagnosed with the condition alongside a healthy control group for comparison. The study involved measuring thyroid hormone levels and trace elements, namely selenium, magnesium, and iron, in addition to determining blood group types.
