University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on the Ashura of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)
The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah organized a symposium entitled "Ashura: From Rituals to Project – A Realistic Reading of the Message and Objectives of the Husseini Movement," attended by faculty members and those interested in cultural and intellectual affairs.
The symposium aimed to highlight the intellectual and humanitarian dimensions of the Husseini movement and to explore its reformist message and objectives in building societal awareness and establishing the values of justice and reform.
The symposium included the presentation of two research papers that addressed the significance of the Ashura event, its intellectual and social dimensions, and the mechanisms for employing the principles of the Husseini movement in confronting contemporary challenges. It also emphasized the importance of moving from ritualistic practice to drawing inspiration from the reformist project embodied by the revolution of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
